The Town Board set a date for a public hearing Thursday on proposed zoning law amendments that would tighten regulations for construction of windmills.
The hearing is 7pm July 27 at the Town Hall.
Town Attorney Paul Boylan said the LeRoy Planning Board recommended the zoning changes for wind energy systems. The requested amendments include definitions for windmills for use by the property owner and commercial operations that would sell power, he said.
It would also require any developer hoping to site a commercial wind farm in the town to negotiate a compensation package with the Town Board.
